What is Infrared Sauna?

Infrared Sauna is radiant heat, just like the soothing warmth of the sun or that which our own body produces as it burns fuel to keep us warm.  Radiant heat, also called Infrared energy, is simply a form of energy that can heat objects without having to heat the air in between.

The sun is the principal source of radiant energy that we experience daily and produces most of its energy “out-put” in the infrared segment of the spectrum. Our tissues normally produce Infrared energy for warmth and tissue repair. Tissue production of Infrared energy is associated with a variety of healing responses. At times, the infrared energy in our tissues may require a boost to a higher level to ensure the fullest healing possible for tissue repair. Body tissues that need an Infrared boost selectively absorb infrared rays, the remaining rays pass onward harmlessly.

Far Infrared waves between 7-14 microns have proven to have special regenerative effects on the body with the optimum absorption at the 9.4 micron frequency. Our TheraSauna emits the greatest amount of Infrared in the 9.4 micron range. When any cell or tissue in the body is exposed to these levels of Infrared heat, response mechanisms stimulate the healing process in the body.

Infrared energy’s "out-put" is tuned to correspond closely to our body’s own radiant energy so that body tissues absorb close to 93% of the Infrared waves that reach the skin.

The deep penetration and heating effect of this Infrared energy reaches 2-3 inches below the skin’s surface into the muscular tissue and internal organs, producing 3 times as much sweat as other saunas, allowing harmful toxins to be released.

You Can Sweat our Way to Radiant Health!

Our skin contains sweat glands and oil glands, both of which help us detoxify.

Sweat glands get rid of water-soluble toxins, and even help to eliminate toxic heavy metals such as mercury and cadmium. Oil glands help remove oil-soluable toxins that the body would otherwise have a difficult time eliminating. The longer the skin is heated, the more oil-soluble toxins are eliminated.

This is How it Works!

A layer of fat and oil exists just below the surface of the skin. Heat from the sauna increases skin temperature, causing those fats and oils to “melt” and “sweat” out of the skins’ glands. As sweat and oil are secreted, the toxins dissolved in them are secreted as well, vastly improving cellular health. Not only are water soluble toxins excreted but also heavy metals such as mercury, lead and cadmium.  Mercury is the most toxic element on earth, second only to plutonium!

More Good News!

Recent studies indicate that regular use of Infrared Sauna can be as effective, as a means of cardiovascular conditioning and burning of calories, as regular exercise!

According to the Journal of American Medical Association in 1981, a single sauna may burn up to as many calories as rowing or jogging for 30 minutes! A person can easily sweat off calories equivalent to running 2-3 miles in a conventional hot air sauna. Since Infrared Sauna helps generate 2-3 times the sweat produced in a hot air sauna, the implication for increased caloric consumption are quite impressive, burning as much as 900-2400 calories in a 30 minute session!  The Infrared Thermal System might then stimulate the consumption of energy equal to that expanded in a 6-9 mile run during a single session!

While the weight of water can be regained by drinking water,

the calories consumed will not be!

Medical researches confirm that the use of Infrared Sauna provides cardiovascular condi- tioning as the body works to cool itself and involves substantial increases in heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate!  So much so that NASA, after extensive research, concluded it to be an ideal way for astronauts to maintain cardiovascular conditioning during long space flights!

The energy required for that process of sending more blood to the capillaries under the skin is derived form the conversion of fat and carbohydrates to calories.

An Infrared Thermal System can play a pivotal role in both weight control and cardio- vascular conditioning. This is very valuable for those who don’t exercise or those who can’t exercise, yet want an effective weight control and fitness maintenance program and the benefits of regular exercise.

Unlike traditional saunas, which require a closed atmosphere to maintain the levels of heat required for therapeutic results, Infrared saunas can be used with the door or window fully open if the only desired effect is Infrared penetration. It is distinctly more pleasant to breathe the air that is in an Infrared Sauna. Patients breath cooler air with ease while maintaining a feeling of warmth. An Infrared heater heats only 20% of the air, leaving over 80% of the heat available to directly heat the body.  This can warm its user to a greater depth with more efficiency.

Because people are able to use this type of sauna for a longer time, they are able to reap greater benefits than through the high temperature saunas.

Today, sweating is not only in...

It’s been proven to be one of the healthiest things a body can do!

Nothing beats the “overall sense of well-being” than a good sweat!
